Jaipur - Albert Hall Museum
Located in the centre of the sprawling Ram Niwas Bagh, the Albert Hall Museum is the oldest Museum in the State. Designed by Sir Swinton Jacob in Indo-Sarcenic style of architecture, i t was built in 1876 when King Edward VII visited India as the Prince of Wales.
It was opened to public in 1886 and houses an exquisite collection of sculptures, paintings, objects d’art, natural history specimens, an Egyptian mummy and a beautiful Persian carpet.
Located nearby the museum are the Rabindra Manch with an auditorium, a modern art gallery and an open air theatre which has been added to promote cultural events in the city.
